Kim’s Story

“The one constant that always remains is God’s love and willingness to keep working in my life; a fact for which I am extremely thankful. Because of His love, I know that recovery is continuing, growth is happening, and progress is being made. I feel closer to God than I ever have. Life is good.”

-Kim Son

Kim Son has been dedicated to Christian ministry for over forty years as a teacher, writer, worship leader, and former co-pastor.

After struggling for decades with food addiction and codependency, rooted in a family history of alcoholism, Kim now communicates a message of God’s incredible power to heal. She shares a pathway to freedom that was inspired and propelled by His unconditional love and His deep desire to see His children whole.

To that end, she continues to reach out to those seeking recovery through her blog, The Compulsive Cookie.

Between the two, Kim and her husband, Kenny, have four children and seven grandchildren, and live in the farm and ranch country of rural Kansas. She has a great love of family, horses, American history, and the unique beauty of her native state which she captures through her artwork.
